35mm Film
There is truly nothing like film.
Perfectly imperfect, forcing us to live in the moment.
Removing the immediate gratification and creating a natural pause in documentation.
I describe my film work as a supplement to my digital work.
It fulfills my love for nostalgia and sentiment, and goes hand in hand with my natural digital editing style.
However, I am quick to note that I am not a film photographer in the sense of all that this medium entails.
But, I am also getting better at being more confident in my film work.
Testing the boundaries of my own knowledge.
Challenging myself with new cameras and film stock.
And getting back to the basics of the incredible joy I find in photography.

The process

Step 01
film gets sent to the lab
The base film package includes one roll of 35mm film. These rolls have 36 exposures, aka 36 photos on the roll. I guarantee 30-36 final images sent to you, simply because film (unlike digital) can be unpredictable.
Step 02
We shoot
I work with an amazing film lab in Philadelphia to develop, scan, and digitize your images. The price you pay to me includes the cost of shipping, development, and digitizing
Let's just say, I'm glad this is my job...or else it would be a very expensive hobby!
Step 03
final images are uploaded to your gallery
Once I receive the final images from the lab, I put them in your custom gallery. Because this process can take up to 2 weeks from sending to receiving the digitals, you will most likely already have your digital gallery completed. These images will then just be uploaded to that same gallery for safe-keeping and easy access!
FAQ
What is the cost for the base package?
The base package is $200.00 for one roll of 35mm film. Any additional rolls are $50/roll. Of this amount, almost $100 of that is just for the development and shipping alone.
What happens if the film gets lost or doesn't develop properly?
While this is every film photographer's worst nightmare, the blessing of living in the digital age is the ability to create backups. For every film photo I take, I also take a digital image as a preservation (which will also be in your final gallery anyway!). Therefore, there is no risk to you, and no memories are lost.
If your film does not get developed for whatever reason, K.E.P. will give you a 100% refund, no questions asked.
How long does it take to get our photos?
The turnaround time for film is typically 2 weeks from shipping to digital delivery. Sometimes in the height of busy seasons when I am shooting multiple rolls a weekend, I will wait to send out a batch shipment to save on costs. But, you will never wait more than 4 weeks from the shoot date to receive your final film scans!
Do you offer prints?
Every package with K.E.P., whether digital or analog, comes with the print rights to your photos. This means that you do not have to order through me, and you can print anywhere you want. However, I do have a print store attached to your final gallery that will give you the option to purchase prints through me, guaranteeing the quality is up to par with our professional artistry.
