Well, hello there! If you're reading this, then it means you a) you've somehow stumbled upon my website via Instagram/Facebook/referral, b) you're a family or friend who I asked to proofread this before I sent it out into the World Wide Web, or c) you have absolutely no clue how you got here, but now you're invested and want to see what this "photographer girl" has to say for herself. Regardless of where you fall, I am so glad you're here, if anything because it gives me a chance to introduce myself. And what better way to do that than by simply saying "hello"👋 (that little waving emoji is just so cute, I had to do it).

ANYWAY, if you've already visited the "About Me" page, then feel free to skip this next part since I literally just copied and pasted it. Or read it again, I can't tell you what to do! Nonetheless, here's a brief snippet about me to get you started:

An actor and English lit enthusiast by trade, I am always searching for the beauty that exists all around us in this crazy world. What started as a college graduation gift (my camera) to myself in 2020, to now having an average of seven scheduled photoshoots a week, this creative outlet of photography has quickly become more than a hobby! I have loved building my expertise in portrait photography, as well as continuing to fulfill my passion of architecture photography (peep my Instagram bio for more on that! #sexydoor). I can't wait to get to know just what makes you YOU. I believe that no two people are alike, and therefore no two photoshoots should be identical. So, let's collaborate and capture the most authentic "you"!

That little blurb was written about 8 months ago, and boy was I in for a surprise. Here is what I knew for certain at that time: I was an artist. I knew that my primary industry of theater was shut down indefinitely. I knew I still wanted to create, no matter what medium I had to use in order to do it. And I knew I loved people, and wanted to continue the art of storytelling, something we theater artists are oh so passionate about. Yet, even at the time, I think I could sense that this really was more than a "hobby." I couldn't believe that people, many of whom I didn't even know, would trust me enough, let alone PAY me to capture some of the greatest memories that they'll hold dear for the rest of their lives. I had been thrust into a new career path that I felt I was unqualified for. Not only was I a recent college graduate, I was a college graduate in a freaking ~global pandemic~, and the very thing I had spent 4 years training for was not happening (besides Zoom theater which, let's be honest is...something else). I was lost, so to speak. And I decided that "lost" wasn't an option.

So, I decided to do a trust fall into God's plan. And I could never have expected to land so softly and wholeheartedly into what I know I am meant to be doing at this very moment in my life. Gosh y'all, I love this job. I really, truly love it. I love getting to create art and finding the intricacies in the lives of my fellow human beings who make this world so goshdarn beautiful that I want to plaster their faces all over this earth and say "THIS is what beauty looks like. THIS is why you are meant to be here. YOU are wanted, loved, and enough." My goal is to capture how the rest of the world sees you, which is that you are 100% undeniably unique and perfect "as is."

I hope this gives you a better understanding of my "why" when you hire me to capture your memories. My 2021 season is certainly going to be no less hectic than my first 2020 season was, but I wouldn't trade that for the world. I can't wait to share my new projects with you all, including my 5 (and counting!) 2021 weddings, my first newborn photoshoots later this month, the introduction of an "Artist Package" to give other artists a chance to get new photos without breaking the bank, and plenty more of my tried-and-true portrait and family shoots that got me to where I am today. So, without further ado, let's get to work!

Thanks and ever thanks,

Kailey
